This guy is out of control. He was at least a foot and a half across several hours before I took these.

The length is OK, but I think you're lacking in girth.

...Dirty sump, here we come!

Nope, it is a GBTA! I will snap some updated pics to show the bulb tips, which are finally back! It was purchased in 2003 from DFS/LA as a "medium". It has never split but its growth has slowed since the feeding was trimmed back to 1-2x/month.

New pics shot this evening. The bulb tips disappeared soon after this GBTA acclimated in the tank back in 2003. They finally reappeared after the clowns began spawning (now a regular event). Not sure it's related, but it sure seemed so. For a green BTA, it flouresces (sp?) very nicely under the actinics!

God, it's huge! I read that they extend their tentacles when they are hungry, and then go back to bulb when fed. Makes sense to me. Very nice.

It has probably been eating all the baby clowns that hatch.

It has probably been eating all the baby clowns that hatch. Our theory exactly. Although prior to the clown's spawning (prior to 2007), we had to stop feeding silver sides to it 2x weekly. It kept growing and growing but never really showed the bulb tips much, no matter if it had been fed or not. Silver sides are now fed just once or twice every month.

I used to have the biggest one you ever seen!! Biggest in length and girth... I sold a clone to ???? shoot I can't remember her name... I think it was Loralie or something like that... she lived down in south in Owatonna or something. Any way she wanted my BIG one so I sold it to her :gay1:
