The latest Fine Woodworking magazine has a really nice Cherry stand in it.

What I did was take our old TV entertainment center we got years ago from Hom and lowered the top by taking off the top and cutting down the vertical boards. It turned up pretty well for a nice entertainment center I couldn't sell on CL for 100.00 (Cost 5-600 new). Might be an option for you also.

thanks for the time, but i think my tv would kill that thing.
its a 51" that weighs 250lbs. also the rptv is deeper than that. 25" or so i think.
would love for this to be that easy, i'd be in the truck right now.
thinking of like just a box frame or something easier that a guy that can barley make a straight cut could make.

My 50" is hanging on the wall :)
I wouldn't think the weight would change a good stand design. Just keep the weight pushing down on the wood and not hanging off the screws and it should be fine.
