I am looking to downsize next spring. I would like a Biocube 29g and stand with an open top Halide setup and the Tunze 9002 skimmer. Can you guys get a biocube without the top? Or should I be looking for something different? Maybe a custom 40 breeder? What would you recommend?

Thanks Guys,

Jesse

Generally I think the answer is probably no, but you might want to contact nanocustoms.com. They might be willing to sell you one as they often sell the tops seperate. Or maybe one of the guys/sponsors has one they would sell you sans lid.

If you have tte space for a 40B it is much more flexible. The reason I like my BC is because of the clean look of the top.

I believe you can buy the tank only from nanotuners but only because they sell retrofitted hoods. If you don't want the hood, I'd buy the whole tank, and then sell the hood someplace like nano-reef to help pay for your lighting.

The more I think about it, the more I think 40 breeder because i want the custo lights, skimmer, probably pumps, it will defeat the purpose of getting the cube.

I dont know, I have time to ponder and will gladly take any suggestions:)

I got my bc29 tank only at nanotuners.com. Here is a post with some photos of my set up with the Sunpod and Tunze skimmer.
