Where's a good place online to buy a wood canopy? I want something to fit a 20L that has enough space for a T5 HO retrofit.

I have too many unfinished projects right now that I'm trying to wrap up, and I'm not starting a new one until these are done. Much easier to just buy something right now.

In that case just have it built locally. It would probably be cheaper that way then to buy a prebuilt one and have it shipped.

I suppose so. The need for a canopy has just gone up; somehow one of my cats got up onto a bookcase and knocked a plant down, and dirt went everywhere, including the tank. I spent a half hour picking dirt out. :/

I understand about the time but since only 20L you really don't need to do anything fancy no hinges or anything. Just build a box from some nice wood from homedepot, put some molding on the corners and done. Probably not even an hour to assemble.

How about a canopy by American Oak. Is light or med in color, $70 includes tax

My stand is black. Is the canopy stainable?

Probably, there is a some type of gloss seal on it. Sand it and repaint it, should work fine.

you could probably even cheat and just krylon fusion spray it black. That stuff seems to hold to anything.
