How am I doing?

I was bored so I went up to DA and bothered Jake a bit. I took these while I was there. How do you think they came out? Any suggestions or comments on how to improve?

Were you using your tripod there?

Yes, I was using the tripod. I got a hood for my 100mm lens. Its about 3" long and perfectly round - no petals like other lenses. I put it right on the acrylic to guaruntee I was perfectly perpendicular.

I used live view for focusing so there was no mirror slap. I also used a 2 second timer on the shutter. I have a corded remote on the way so that I can reduce jitter further (and for other reasons).

Not a bad idea. Did you have to do much post processing in Lightroom?

Slight adjustment on the first one.

The second wasn't exposed quite right so I played around a little more there.
