looks like a fun project. not sure how many people out there got the space for it....

I would think the syringe wouldn't make it past the first day. especially when dosing reef elements. it would dry the rubber plunger out and cause it to stick after 1440 cycles in one day

Interesting for sure. But definately have concerns about long term use.

Those low rpm motors ain't cheap (for a good one). A decent peristaltic pump can cost less than they do...

(Although I see in the thread his total cost is $10. Looks like they must have Ax Man in the Netherlands )

i bought 3 low rpm motors for 4$ each off a surplus site. shipping killed me though. after shipping, the 3 motors came to about 7$ each.

i plan to try this with 2 part.

Sheesh. Oceans Motions should go to a different motor. Theirs are almost $100 if they need to be replaced.

I wonder if taking the plunger out and coating it with silicone grease would help.

For the time and effort put into this project you could of dosed your tank for like a year. I hope it works tho.

my first try failed quickly, the syringe i used was to small and it ripped itself apart.

im not going to push to find a better replacement, but if i do i'll give it a try.
