Does anyone know how to get rid of the sound of bubbles in the sump coming from the drain off of the tank?

Thanks

Do you have a picture of the drain going into the sump? Is it terminating above the water line, or underneath the water line?

I use a couple things, my drain terminates under the water line, and I usually have a filter sock of one sort or another on there to quiet it down. I also usually enter at an angle.

Amount of actual flow is going to determine how much noise as well. The more flow some noise will be unavoidable.

Some of the noise is usually the bubbles/water that is going down into the sump is crashed with the bubbles trying to rise. So sometimes you can quiet by having a J ( or updown candy cane shape ) so the water and bubbles are not colliding but always going in the same direction ( up ). Also the output as close to the water surface as possible.

and a filter sock will def. help as well.

I tried this and it worked perfectly. I really wasn't expecting it to. Tow 1.5" street elbows, a short piece of 1.5" pipe, and some other stuff.

Just that I have no prior experience with a lot of this stuff. For me, it's just shooting in the dark, but with someone telling me where to point.

Thanks

Sounds like good advice David, if mine gets noisy I'll have to try it.

well mine is made of all pvc and comeing stright down into a T then to two 90' out to the side at water lvl. you can always add alge too it and that will lower the noise outout.
