I need some other advise on this. I'm planning on building a canopy for my 46, and I was planning on using 2x175 watt MH, and then 2 T5 HO for actinics. Looking at the dimensions of the reflectors that I would need. I could fit just the two MH reflectors, and nothing else. How would it look if I just ran MH's with no other light? I really have no idea about this.
Thanks again.

If you ran a 14k-20K bulb it would look just fine without supplements. Because of the small sized tank, you may be better served with DE 150 or 250since the reflector/fixtures fit a much smaller footprint.

Have 12/18/24/36" Pfo reflectors. All but the 12" are bent for MH and vho/pc's. All of the T-5 endcaps I have need standoff's to attach to. They are too big for normal bend in the reflectors. There is an extra side bend to them, you could possibly bend that back, sort of straighten that bend and retap the holes to line up with the standoffs. Some have done this exact thing to add an extra set of Vho's to these same reflectors. So it is possible.
Or find some t-5 endcaps which are more like Vho-holes in the base of it. If you are still interested prices same as mail order plus tax.

I aquirred a bunch of reflectors today I posted them on ebay and craigslist, 48" long by 5" widethey would be pretty easy to cut and size to a tank.
PM me and I will send you a picture.

I have a couple that I'm not using when I bought Graham's lights, I'd like to keep one for the ballast that I'm not (currently) using. I believe they are the spider reflectors with a mogul socket, $50 for the pair, let me know if you're interested.

The only problem w/ making them yourself, I've been all over the cities trying to find polished aluminum, There is none to be found, and I looked HARD!

Solar tube extensions. Home Depot. And probably Menards and Lowe's.

If they are spiders w/mogul sockets, I'd be interested.

Check in the millwork dept.(windows, doors, etc.). In by the skylights, they have solar tubes. What you are looking for is the extension tubes. If I recall correctly, they are available in 8 or 10" diameter and they are like 3 feet long.
Yes, they are polished on the inside. When you open them up, they are about 24 -32" by about 36". Then you can cut them to whatever size you want/need.:brainoverload: Hope this helps.....:agree:
