are your holes in the bottom or in the back of the aquarium?

Oh, and do you have a durso on it?

If you have a tightly sealed durso you don't have to worry about it. However if the durso is leaking it will drain down either the hole in the overflow or the leak in the durso.

the leak is in my silicon between the overflow plate and the side of the aquarium. i have a durso setup, but not installed yet

the hole is just like your 40 br mary, from angels

The tank will then drain down to the hole in the silicone with out a tightly sealed durso in place.

thats what i figured. and the hole is in the bottom seal

well already globbed on my silicone, so let that dry for a day and see if it leaks after it.

this same thing happened to me last week

I tried the "silicone patch" method without realizing that silicone does not bond to silicone too well

in my case it worked just fine, however

hopefully it does in your case too

there was no way in hell I was stripping it out and redoing it because of one stupid leak

my hole is at the top of the tank with a stockman, so I had no risk of flood though, so you 'll need to consider your situation differently
