175 watt iwasaki 15k? I'm looking to upgrade now that I have a 120, my xm 10k's arent cutting it. the iwasaki's are said to be as bright as most 250 watt bulbs. I've tried out the 250 watt xm10k's as I have a pair of 250 watt ballasts on hand, and they dont seem much brighter for the added watts and heat. comments? I looked at the numbers, and the 175 watt xm's are 62 PAR, where as the iwasaki's are 72, and the 250w xm's are 137, but side by side with the 175, dont seem much brighter at all.

Par doesn't have a whole lot to do with the visible brightness of a bulb. to me the radium 20k on HQI looks a hell of a lot brighter then the xm 20k on mag ballast, but the XM has better par. i think you really need a light meter to measure par.
