I was contemplating making a Phosban reactor, but use it with carbon instead. I went to walmart to try and find a suitable container to sacrifice for the cause. Well, I saw the "Sip-a-mug" it's a mug, for children, and the handle also works as a straw. the bottom of the straw enters the bottom of the cup, and I figured that this would just about do it. The best part, it was $0.96.

So I got home and heated up my stove and tried to straighten out the end of the straw, with little avail. So I just cut it off, and reheated the end, then shaped it with the nozzle on my turkey baster. This is where the fission skimmer comes in to play. I enlarged the end of the straw enough so that it fit snugly into one of the elbow pieces that come from the fissions, that are used to hook the pump to the skimmer. Then I let it cool and attached them together with super glue.

I took some window screen and cut a piece that would fit over the top of the mug, then screwed the lid on, and trimmed the extras, and drilled some holes in the top of it. Ta-da!! It works great. I just thought that I would share this with everyone.

I have one of those poor investment skimmers in a box somewhere too. I was thinking of attempting to make an acrylic skimmer that would fit in my biocube14 center chamber without the need to modify it. I just need to get some money and motivation.

hmmm...mouth piece, screen, blown-glass look = bong until proven otherwise

powerhead provides an interesting wrinkle:idea:
