I have a piece of rock that has 3 big mushrooms on one side and now is sprouting some smaller mushrooms on the bottom side. I am wondering if I can just pluck them off and move them to a new home or will I kil them if I yank on them, and advice?

Thanks David

You can take a razor and cut them off at the stems, then use some tule (Get it at Michael's in the wedding section) and use th to hold it to the new location. Go to the caralamorphians section on RC there is a thread there about this.

it is impossible to kill a shroom. I rip them off with my finger nail all the time. Just know that where ever you cut one off, two will grow back in its place

I have also heard of people tossing them in a blender, and making tons o shrooms that way (although, I would not recomend this practice.)

oh man, that'd be so cool, if only I had more shrooms, I'd try it. or maybe just go all slicey dicey on 'um with a chef's knife. On a side note, I'd love to take anyone's overgrowing shrooms, no matter how ugly, to help populate my 'industrial' tank.

I'm not sure why, but I always get a small mushroom that ends up on the bottom of my tank. I just pick it up and put it on a rock (i try to find a rock in a low flow area) and walla, successful frag, if that's what you want to call it.

This is on my fishonly tank with crappy lighting. A random mushroom shot out of a piece of live rock about a year ago, and now I have them everywhere
