I picked up a pistol shrimp for my 29 Biocube, no picture, never see it. Lets just say I would compare it to buying a pet mole and letting it go in my front lawn. Busy landscaper for how small it is.

Do you have a goby to pair up with it? I've heard that's the only way you'll see it regularly. I only see mine when the goby lets him out of the caves.

i had one and never saw the thing either... just clicking every once in a while.... not the most exciting creature... the sysbiotic relationships are always cool though.

I have a Hi fin red banded goby for him to pair up with, it seems to hang out by where the shrimp has dug, but that is also a big area. Day 5 for the shrimp. Would be cool if they pair up, the Hi fin is small compared to many shrimp goobies.

the goby doesnt feed it....in fact the goby is pretty selfish and only uses the pistol shrimp. when worst comes to worst the goby abandons the shrimp. from the years of raising many kinds of pistol shrimps and gobies. none of them will actually feed the shrimp. The shrimp actually eats the fecal matters that is deposited by the goby unless they can catch food floating by. they will also eat algae and what ever they find while digging. On the occasion the shrimp will pick on the inside of the gobie's mouth or gills to find what ever food is left over. the goby sees it as an oppertunity to be cleaned.

I have a yellow watchman with mine, only see the watchman and assume the shrimp is still behind him. :stupid:
