Maybe not "very" rare but rarer than an orange cap anyway.

Not sure how we're defining very rare, but here are a few of my more collectible montis that I can find pics of. Have too many that I still don't have pics of.
True Leng Sy Cap. This pic doesn't do this coral justice. Really vibrant green and purple.

Old pic of my sunset monti. It's probably three times that size now. Easily 7-8"

Do you mean rare as in corals that are uncommon in the wild, or those that there aren't many in the club? I'd agree the Leng Sy is rare as there are a lot of supposed Leng Sy's out there, but it's disputed whether the true Leng Sy is alive.... Pretty coral.

Agree with you Matt, there is much debate. As Leng states, the real leng sy had yellow polyps, while many of the "real" one have white or green polyps. As long as it has the sick purple rim and nodular growth I'm happy :)
Here's Steve's thoughts on it. To be honest the one going around (rafaels, atlantis, etc.) looks just the the one steve pictures here:
http://www.reeffarmers.com/capricornismostwanted.htm
whereas one's like this are a joke, there's a million green caps with purple rim. notice this has no nodules and green polyps.

Uncommon Monti's is what I was looking for,but any will be just fine.We can skip the red and green caps though.

I have a small frag of the Key Lime Mango Sherbert Mycedium LE. Had it for about a month and at this point it looks like a slow grower.
Ken
I just picked up a bunch from a friend out here who's getting out--superman, setosa, apple berry... $5 frags, whaaaaaa!?!?! I'll post pics once they start colorin' up in my system.

I'm not entirely sure what this is (hopefully someone can help on the ID), but I picked this up as an "Austrailian encrusting monti". The original owner paid over $100 for the rock. Good thing I didn't pay that as I'm doing a good job killing it off trying to find what it likes in the tank.

Kinda looks like a encrusting Porite. If it is a Monti it is not like one I have seen before. What kind of lights do you run? Should be placed mid level under good lighting and a medium flow.

I'm running 4x39W T5 (with VERY old bulbs at the moment). I can't put it hardly anywhere in the tank or it bleaches out. I had it about mid-way in the tank and it bleached so bad it turned completely white. I'm lucky it recovered. It's on the bottom right now, and I just took it out of the shade to see how it'll do.

T5 bulbs should be replaced every 8-9 months. They will last alot longer than that, but the spectrum changes.
