My pops signed up for the fourth spot... I think Rain and Pete (pops) will go diving this winter if all works out. Rain has forced time at Thanksgiving and Xmass (week each)... Obviously I can't vacation then.

Just throwing this out there ....

We had a scuba social group started up - so look for that again some day.

Any interest in meeting up for a fun dive with with all the new divers after you guys all get certified? Air Down There is sponsoring one May 15th I think at beautiful square lake. There are lots of other options through the various shops too.

that sounds very convenient, Nicole is a teacher and also has 'forced' tim e off for thanksgiving and xmas..not sure if it's a week each, but I think she'd be ready to go.

Hypertech,
How do Nicole and I get more information on the May 15th dive?

The boys are likely doing square lake for their full certification That is in June. Obviously I won't be doing that one... but I do want to do one or two after that if possible. I also plan on doing the nitrox and advanced cert this summer if possible.

I'm OK with that. The water will be nicer by then anyway. Are people up for a dive outing?

I'm happy to help with the coordination effort.

Fritz, lets talk about AOW. I've got a fantastic instructor and he is teaching it this summer - problem is they are going up north and I don't know the water temps. I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to really cold water.

Is AOW the acronym for Advanced certification?

Yes, Advanced Open Water - at least that is the acronym for PADI. SDI and others might be slightly different.

I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to really cold water.

The wife and myself did our AOW up at the Crosby mines. The deep dive was at 75ft.. Surface temp was around 78 degrees, temp at 75ft was 34 degrees. We were only at that depth for about 5 minutes to do a simple skill.

I'm a wus too... I used a full 5mil in Bonaire while most folks were in a 3mil shorty... I never regretted it and i was never hot or cold... while in the water that is :gay1:
