Dang cats! I think they like being on the lights becuase they're warm. If the fixture slides back and forth easy you might want to think about putting something to secure it. I just stuck a couple little pieces of velcro to the rim of the tank in front and behind the legs of the light. This prevents the fixture from sliding right off when the cat jumps off.

Looks great!

The tank has cleared up a bit and you can sort of see the rock work in place. Next step is to set up the Tunzi osmolator and two 6025's.

Here's a few updated pics. Everything seems to be doing well so far. I moved my Gramma into the tank yesterday and he has already found "his home". Once I get a netting top created, I'll move "Carpet Fish".

So far I'm really liking the CadLights tank. They seem to put together a package that doesn't need to be modded unless you really want to.

Got the two Tunze 6025's running on the AC Jr now and the osmolator is set up and running. I'm going to try doing Kalk on the osmolator to start. If it doesn't work out, I"ll switch to 2 part. I also crafted a netting top for it tonight, but I'm waiting on the acrylic hangers, before I can set it in place. It turned out pretty well. I'll get some pics when I get it installed. Other than killing a couple of corals in my temp tank, things are still fairly smooth. Keeping my fingers crossed.:goldfish::biggrin:

Some hair algae present and hopefully the new emerald crab and the 35 snails with take care of that.

I have a pretty good fish list, but need to decide on what type of wrasse to get. Suggestions? I love the flames, but they are a wee bit too pricy. Maybe some sore of flasher or fairy?

I love this tank. What did you use for the frame of the mesh lid?

I just went to Home Depot for the screen frame, PetSmart for the pond netting and WalMart for the Krylon Fusion paint. The tough part was putting a bit of a radius on the front rail.

Had a bit of a disaster today when I decided to install a HGB to quiet the overflow. I started messing with the plumbing in the overflow and all of a sudden I developed leaks in both the intake and the drain bulkheads. In short order I had water all over in the base cabinet :mad_3::mad_3::mad_3: I had to pull out the sump completely and take out all the plumbing, clean it up and put everything back. A couple of hours later all was good again and a little quieter :greenguy: At least I didn't have to disturb the main tank.

A few new additions:

OK Ray. You got me. I slaked up a bit and I'll try to get some updates posted today. It's filling up nicely. :gay1:

05-29-2009, 01:25 PM
Just about time to quit :gay1: I guess now I can start getting selective of what I add, because I'll probably have to take something out to make room. My Dracula Goby (went carpet surfing after only one day :mad_3:) has been replaced with a high fin goby and he has paired up with the Randalli shrimp. Now if only I can get a pic. I did put a Panda goby in, but haven't seen him in a week or so. Hope he's still there somewhere. He was really teeny tiny. I think the only fish to be added yet will be a yellow and a blue assessor.

Awesome!

PS. You asked about the AC Jr. cable. I really like it! It's slick. If you have the money... a really great idea I had would be to hook it up to one of those mini laptops. They sell them at Sam's for about 250. I don't know if it would be worth it for the Ac Jr, but if you own a higher end unit it would be a perfect setup.

How long have you had the tunicate? Does it ever molt and lose it's heads? I was so excited when I saw the picture of your tunicate. I haven't been able to find anyone else who has one or even knows what I am talking about. I have one that molts about every two weeks, but I just started feeding it reef chili three times a week. Prior to reef chili, I have been feeding it oysterfeast. Hopefully, reef chili makes a difference in the molting.

Btw, your tank is beautiful. I love the rock work with all the premium real estate. I assume you drilled spaces for the rods? And did you use some kind of glue to keep the rods in? Lots of questions, I know. I'm just passionate about my tanks and anything concerning them.
