I have 2 tank bred clowns (Percs or Ocel) that appear to be a pair. I want to add another perc/ocel or maybe a pink skunk clown so that something will use my green BTA. My tank is 75 gallons. Is this possible or am I looking for problems? What about adding another pair of percs/ocels? I really want a clown/anemone pair, but don't want to sell the ones I have to make it work. Those clowns have been with me since the begining (4-5 years ago!!!!!!) :frown:

I had a very similar situation with my 75g. I had a pair of false percs (sold to me as true percs :grr: ) that showed zero interest in my RBTAs - after one of the percs died and I wanted a replacement. I really wanted something that would host, but my GF likes the natural pattern/markings of the percs. I ended up getting a pair of clarkiis. From my research they seemed to be more likely to host in the RBTA naturally. I managed to pick out a pair in the store that were already trying to host in a condi so I knew my chances were good.
What other livestock do you have in your tank? In my setup the perc & clarkii get along pretty well now so I'd say it's possible if you can support the bioload.

I have 2 clowns, powder blue, 6 line wrasse, purple firefish, 3 green chromis, neon blue goby, 4 shrimp, sand sifting star, sea serpent, cucumber......I think thats it. I'm sure the tank could handle a few more fish. Just don't want to put a wrong combination and have them fight to the death!!!!!

dont mix clowns, unless you have a large tank, just give them time. my took almost 1 year and 3 months before they host the RBTA.
if you add one more oceallaris or percula, the chance that new one will killed by the male is high, and you risking break up the pair you have now.
you can try different anemone, like RBTA, clowns are attracted to the "smell" of the anemone (the chemicals that release by the anemone)
