Just wondering how compatible these guys are in a reef tank. I've heard they eat some algae and detritus as well as filter plankton etc. Are they potential trouble makers? They seem really cool.

My friend has one in his nano he hasnt had any serious problems-they are listed as reef safe but can be elusive- there is also a anemone crab (neopetrolisthes ohshimai) they look almost identical in both care and feeding. also they will drop there pincers when stressed. hope this helps.

i've had one once. he didn't seem to be trouble at all. they are filter feeders. your reef is safe and they won't fight or kill anyone else in the tank.

I either have or had one. I put him in, he crawled into the rock and was never seen again.

My friends lived for 2 years in the back of his tank and he never saw him. Then he moved and there he was filter feeding. lol
