So Dustin calls me tonight and says that the Magnificent is missing. He said he looked all over the tank, fed, and no sight of him. I get home check behind the tank, the sump, nothing. Turns out my poor beatiful foxface decided to take a nap in the tunze rock :(. I found him, pulled him out, and he is still alive currently, but he is in really rough shape. I am sure he sustained serious internal damage, and I will be really surprised if he makes it through the night. I am so sad, he is my favorite fish, and I have wanted one for sooo long. Poor guy (sniffle, sniffle.)

Thats too bad. The one plus of using seio is that the propeller is shaped in such a way that if fish go in there while the power heads are off they do not get hurt when they turn back on.

he wasnt in the tunze though, he was sucked onto it, and couldnt get out, cause he had wedged himself into a nice crevace to sleep that just happened to be the intake to a powerhead :(. Poor guy. I am gonna go cry some more now. (Literally)

Dumb fish. Of course the favorite does that!
When I had my coral beauty in QT, I came home one day to find him sucked to the intake of the skimmer. Completely C shaped and everything, wouldn't even swim away. A day later, she started swimming, the next, eating again. now, she's fat and happy. Best of luck! I'm sure it has the best conditions for recovery!

That sucks guys... it was a very cool fish.
Can you do something to the tunze rock to keep that from happening again?

Not really sure I guess, anyone have any ideas? I have never heard of that happening before, so I am guessing he might have been mildly retarded :(

Nothing like having a "special needs" fish in your tank.
SORRY:cry:

Sorry to hear about the fish. That's painful.
Not really sure I guess, anyone have any ideas?
I don't know anything about the tunze rock, so take this FWIW, but could you cut out a little portion of screen (e.g., that plastic window screen material) and silicon or epoxy it to the rock's opening? I have some screen if you wanted it, though given gas prices it would be cheaper to drive to Home depot and get some.
