I need something to mix up the sand in my tank so it looks nicer (no brown crap) and the hair algae in it goes away. The rest of it in the rocks is coming under control but nothing seems to bother with the sand. If it were stirred up some, then it wouldn't have a chance to take hold.
I'm thinking of a yellow watchman or a red banded high fin goby. Would these be a good choice for a 29 BC? Do you have other suggestions?

I have a blue dot jawfish in my 14g. I think any watchman should be fine, though I am no goby expert.

What kind did you have? I haven't seen much info on them other than they can get to 6" need lots of live sand and a 50g or larger tank. If that's true of the goby you are thinking of, then it wouldn't work for me because my tank isn't that big.

I've had a yellow watchman in a 20 long and he set under a rock and sifted a 12" by 6" patch of sand and left the rest of the tank alone. Now he is in a 65 gallon and still only sifts a 18" by 6" patch. So mine does a good job sifting sand around his home but doesn't do the entire tank.

how big is your tank? I use nassarius snails in my 14g to keep the sand moved around.

Its a 29 biocube. I need to get some more snails. They seem to almost keep up with the algea, but they need a little more help to finish it off. Right now, I've got 3 margarita, 15 very small cerith, and 1 astrea I haven't seen a while (might have turned into a hermit house).
Maybe I should get a couple nassarius and the goby then.

I picked up a few of the larger nassarius(super tongan?) at the Dr F&S swap and they are doing a great job of keeping the sand clean thus far. Hopefully they keep it up.
I think they are normally $3 each, but they were on sale for $1.35 at the swap.

mine was all white, but there are similar ones that are all white with a yellow stripe on their cheek.

also know as the gold headed sleeper goby, they need a larger tank that is well established or they will not do very well, i had one that wouldnt eat any thing i would feed. they will constantly sift the sand even under your live rock and corals etc,

Or maybe the twin spot goby? I think it might also be called a signal goby.
