Can't wait to add more stuff to it. It's getting clear pretty fast. Ill keep you guys updated
See if you can find a Sapphire skimmer for it. It goes in back in place of the bio-balls. That is what I have on my cube and love it.

I was thinking about that skimmer or maybe getting the tunze 9002 doc one. Maybe after I let the tank finish cycling ill get more into skimmers. Right now my 2nd chamber is empty with only some live rock

Nice choice for a tank.
I'm sure you will be happy with it.

I am running the Tunze 9002 in my 29G biocube, the one thing I don't like about it, is that you have to have a constant stable water level, if you over top off, it floods the skimmer cup, and if you don't have enough water in there, the water level drops and it doesn't skim anything.
I ended up getting the DIY ATO kit from bulk reef supply and that fixed the issue, for now anyways.
Edit: also if you go with the Tunze, check out the replacement skimmer cup, if you get this cup, you don't need to modify your tank lid at all, http://shop.mediabaskets.com/product.sc?productId=5&categoryId=16

yeah, 9002 is a POS.
The sapphire are better. I had the recirculating and dumped it because of the noise. I best if I had the regular one it would be best.
The guy went out of buisiness for a while, but I think he is back. I believe CPR came out with a knock off of his skimmer in the mean time.
IMHO, I would try using his GFO reactor over a skimmer. Small skimmers just suck. Water changes and media are a better solution.

The Octopus style HOB skimmers are nice too. I found a used one for my 28gallon nano-cube, and it skims like a champ, way better than the stock skimmer.
I consider ATO kits necessary in nanotanks, but maybe that's cause I'm lazy. :) Also mandatory for a pc-fan style cooling. These closed lid cubes get hot in the summer.

I really don't want to hijack the thread but might be helpful to the OP as well.

As I am still a noob, what do you mean the saphire is better? threads I've read over at nano-reef are saying the saphire was worse because it left macro bubbles in the display area or something along those lines.
but like I said I'm a noob still.
I've been getting good junk pulled out of the water once I figured out the water levels and got it tuned correctly.

can you explain that more? not sure what you mean.

Its been 3 days since this tank has been set up and this morning i woke up to find these little asterina stars on the glass. Are these good or bad?

They are fine. They don't hurt anything but they can become a nuisance to some people by sheer numbers.
I've noticed that they come and go in my tank. Right now, I have more than normal probably because I've been busy on the new tank and not doing maintenance on it.

Like Matt says they don't hurt anything. Some wrasses will take care of them if you don't like. Before my wrasses took a liking too them, I'd pick them out when I find them all the glass during maintenance.
