are there any that are cheap enough to be worth it, or should I just go the whole 9 yards and get a AC jr and a DC8? I think I've discovered I don't really need the pH ability for now, but who knows in the future... Anyway, opinions? Anyone selling one (or an AC jr)?

I'd put the money towards a A Jr. or Reefkeeper. Both are a good investment and money well spent.

The cost of a good dual stage temp controller is around $125-175 unless you get lucky and can find a used on cheap. A Jr. which includes more functionality without the serial probe or PH is around $215 plus shipping. Sometimes can find as low as $200 is there is a group buy offer.

About the only time you see a used Jr for sale is when someone is getting out of the hobby. However, to date most offer very little savings so I'd probably just buy new and get the full warranty.
