I thought this was interesting, does anyone know more about this? I wonder if it would be possible to get cultures of these microorganisms into our tanks somehow, or maybe they already exist in our tanks and we're just not aware of them yet?

That is interesting. I imagine these archaea are already in our systems, and we just misunderstood how the nitrogen cycle works. Of course, if you COULD culture them, you could drastically shorted a tank cycling by adding huge amounts of these to eliminate ammonia spikes. Just be sure to get the patent first! It could be the new reefkeepers craze!
