I have two small neon green Sarcophyton leathers that open and close several times a day.Any idea's why? Too much light? Not pests, and not water quality. They are at the bottom of a 20'' tank with six T5 HO 54 watt bulbs.

I have had them for about 6 months. I can not say that I have ever seen them close for days and slough/shed like most leathers do.I wonder if something is keeping them from doing so.

Usually a good water change can induce shedding or try to raise alk to 10 dkh

Thanks for the advise Wetone. May bump Alk up to 9,but that would be the highest I am going.
