Just a quick little update about my Tunze 9002 skimmer that might come in handy to someone (hopefully).
Lately I noticed that it was hardly skimming. The performance was way down and the skimmate was very watery. I tried playing around with the water level and the air intake screw but neither gave me any better skimmate. So after taking apart the skimmer, I noticed what was wrong!

Ignoring my big fat hand, you'll see the air elbo going into the venturi is very clogged with buildup. I would guess I have been running the skimmer for only around 1.5 months and still the buildup was enough to almost shut down the skimmer. I do use Reef Crystals, which has pretty high levels of Calcium and Alk, but even if your dosing up to those levels, I would guess you might run into some trouble.
So, if your notice you 9002 loses most of it skimming power, even if it hasn't been that long, you might try cleaning out the elbow.

P.S. I am still a newbie, all this info has to be taken with a grain of salt.
