Hello, I am new to the forum and new to Marine aquariums. I wanted to introduce myself. I am in Eagan and have two 29 Gallons and have been fiddling around with a 2.5 Gal Pico. If i can figure it out I will post some pictures. I have a Royal Gramma, two clowns, a yellow tail damsal, humbug damsal, two firefish, shrimp, crabs, snails, brittle stars. I made rock out of sand, oyster shells and cement and am maturing it with with some live rock that are covered in red mushroom coral.

I am hoping to add some Zoa's and different color mushrooms to add some veriety. I would like to upgrade to a larger tank but right now it doesnt make sense with my living situation and possilbe moves. Besides Eagan I also live in Ames, Iowa. Anyway, I wanted to say hello and would like to make it to a meeting soon, looks like i just missed one. These forums have been really helpful, Thanks!

Thanks everyone! Does anyone have any ideas on where i could find some cheap starter colonies of Zoa's and mushrooms? I dont have alot of light so im trying to limit myself to soft coral that does not require huge amounts of light. :)

Welcome aboard. I'm in eagan too. Wish I could help you with starter colonies, but the only thing I have to frag is a rather hohum set of mushrooms. They got bleached out in the prior tank with too much light, only slowly coming back.

If you're ever on your way to Ames let me know, I can get you some blue spotted mushrooms and some purple w/ green smears mushrooms. Maybe a small zoo frag too.

I'm from Albert Lea

Hey there cwpv. By far this is the best place for saltwater forums in the upper midwest. Hope to see you at a meeting.

I have two large size zoa rocks you can have to start you out with 50 to 70 polyps on each rock. Yours for free. Don't live but 20 min. or so from you. If you would like them LMK. We can set up a time for you to come over. And welcome! Chad
