Ok so I'm setting up the 72 in our new house. I was always planning on hanging the lights. They are 48" aqualight pros hqi. They have legs for them also. I have both setup options at my fingure tips. Bascially I'm not sure about putting holes in the celing to hang the lights. I was going to but then my wife lol spoke up. are there any advantages to hanging? I think it would look a little nicer. Hanging you can adjust the hight. whats the opinion?

Hanging Looks sleeker IMO. Being able to adjust in case of heat issues particularly from winter to summer and to acclimate is nice feature too.

And to raise and lower during tank maintenance too, yet still have light to see.

Is there a way that they can be setup for matenace useing the aqualight pro hanging setup? I know I've seen some with pullys but thats not going to work in my setup.

I've never used that fixture. I've had a aquamedic spacelight and had little clips that pinched the wire, you squeeze to release to make it easily adjustable. I would assume something similiar.

You can always make a top for your tank and install them in there if you dont want to drill holes in your celing
