For about a month now I've seen what I believe to be one of our emerald crabs hosting in our large birdsnest. So far I haven't seen any damage and I just thought it was kinda funny, but then I found acouple of posts in another forum about SPS polyp eating crabs that kind of look like emeralds. The thing is since I've seen him in the birdsnest he doesn't seem to be bothering it and no tips have gone missing so far, which makes me believe it is just a emerald that is taking advantage of the branches to catch/eat mysis that get caught within the coral. So what does everyone else think?

No, I've bben looking at pics of acrocrabs and this is green like a emerald. Also I really doubt we would get a acro crab in the tank due to every SPS started as a frag and from what I've read acro crabs don't live long without a host coral so live rock hitchhiker is out too.

My emerald sleeps in my birdsnest too. It bugged me at first but honestly thats the least annoying thing the emerald does.
I lose tips from the birdsnest but thats from snails and me with the hemostat.
