Here is a link to my 150 gallon build thread on salt-city.org which is a local based forum here in Kansas City. Thought I would post this in case you thought I fell off of the face of the earth. I still love you guys!

Lookin' good! But why did you connect the overflow boxes?

This prevents any eddys or spots on the water surface that avoid getting skimmed. Also helps keep the suction velocity of the overflow teeth way down since the surface area of all of the overflow teeth spaces is so great, which keeps from sucking small fish and inverts down into the sump. This is defnitely not my idea, I got it from Anthony Calfo, Spazz calls it the coast to coast overflow, some call it the Calfo style overflow.

Everything's looking really cool Paul. I really like the idea of the remote sand bed. What type of maintence is involved with that?
The cat looks cool too, you finally got one of those hairless breeds I see, that should be kind to your allergies.

Did you sell your house in MN?

Thanks Barry, the RDSB involves absolutely no maintenance, the idea is to move water across it so quickly that no solids can fall into the sandbed.
We got our sphynx cat finally, someone had given him to the local vet, we adopted him for $75 !!!
No we have not sold the house yet, we are now looking into what they call a "short sale" Anyone with info on short sales please let me know what to look out for. We've lost way too much money to keep holding onto the house.

Very nice Paul! You will have to check out the new tank next time you are in town :)

I will for sure be in town around the holidays, I will be in Wisconsin visiting my grandmas this weekend, but don't have time to swing through the Twin Cities on the way there or back. I just can't afford to be away from the aquariums too long.
I can't wait to see your tank Mary, I will try to make time around the holidays, maybe we can swap some frags by then.

paul-i LOVE the idea of a settling tank/water change reservoir that can be taken offline for water changes/prep while keeping the system up and running
good to hear from you!

Paul,
concerning your short sale, definately give these guys a holler. They have an entire team dedicated to them now in the cities. Easy to work with too!
