Do you guys still have that emp that was in quarintine a few weeks ago when i was in? I am really considering getting one. A little nervous that a juvi won't turn to normal adult coloration in a home aquarium. any thoughts on that?

I think the coloration has to do more with age and less with environment

i read somewhere that sometimes in captivity they will not make a full transition to adult coloration regardless of age. not sure how true that is and i can't seem to remember where i read that.

Our first emp (which died to a fast moving disease along with the fem Xhatch trigger that came from a goatfish) he changed super fast and at a very small size in captivity. My guess is as long as they are fed well and don't feel challenged they will change, even at a very small size.

Anecdotaly spoken,

Yep I saw him in on Saturday for sure. I didn't get to that side of the store today.

do you recall the price on it? i may make a run up there to get more food and such anyway. I may have to pick him up. Since he has been there a while now i would assume it would be pretty healthy at this point.

Anyone at SWE confirm if this fish is still there and the price? I may stop by this afternoon if so.

Always best to just give them a quick phone call.

Thanks guys. Fish has acclimated perfectly and he is eating like a horse. Usually i would not feed on the first afternoon but i am pretty sure he was hungry and chewing on a brain. He went crazy for mysis.

You are going to love watching him grow. While I am very glad we got KVMNs fish big and healthy to fend off the queen in the 300... I do miss watching them change :)
