im not sure what my plans are with this tank. but i want to be able to keep rotifers alive in it, and even grow brine shrimp. so for flow and alteration, duel sponge filters!

i've kept rotifer cultures happy and healthy using sponge filters in the past.

coral plans will be soft corals and my sun coral. few gorgonians as well. also would like to get my sponges to grow again.

fish, well im thinking of a pair of blue stripe pipefish, and if they are big enough to not get eaten by my blue assessors, then i'll add them too. so, in the end that'll be 4 fish.

filteration, live sand, live rock and sponge filters. will likely do weekly water changes, taking water from my fish system.

lighting will be two 10W 50/50 spiral florescent bulbs. should be enough to grow xenia, star polyps, and blue clove polyps.

i want to note that the water is dirty in the pic because i had just added the 2nd sponge filter, and i kicked up some sediment.

had an aptasia, but kalk finished it off fast.

the main rock is a really nice shelf piece that i have drilled and mounted to a sheet of eggcrate that is burried below the sand. i have red macro algae on a rock covering the back of the live rock where the orange fiberglass rod is visible.

back when i fed rotifers to my reef, i saw impressive results. i want to replicate those results, but in an environment that the rotifers will last for a many hours, or maybe even days.

brine shrimp should be easy to culture if i dose phytoplankton. however, once i add fish, brine shrimp will only be practical if i add after lights out, then in the morning, the fish can have breakfast after the corals have had their fill.
