or at least on his way.
So this evening I pulled the trigger and ordered the Elos Mini.
I have been looking for a nice Nano that fits the style of the family room. I wanted also more the "all-in-one" as I don't want to have cables and all kind of other equipment everywhere. Having to travel a lot for work it should be easy to maintain also.
I have been going back and forward between several nano rimless systems and just felt in love with the sleek design of the Elos.
Agreed it is not the cheapest system (and you pay for the Elos logo) but it has just that special something. At least for me.
Also I got the Elos e-lite LED lights. Even being a big fan of the AI LED's and their quality the module is just to big to match the sleek design of the Elos.
For my purposes the Elos light will be the optimal. I liked also the ATI Powermodule a lot but I wanted to avoid the light reflections around the tank and needed a light that just lights up the tank and nothing else.
For now I will also ad a Vortech MP10 to the system
I am planning on having just a nice small LR arangement, a nice RBTA with a pair of "not so common" clowns and maybe a pair of Harlequin shrimp. A few nice Acans on the sand but that should be it.
Once I get the tank here I will post the setup and progress to tag along...:beerchug:
Here are a few pics of the Elos (not my pics!!) with specifications:
•Elos MINI pool (17x17x16).
•Elos SQUARE stand- 35.5 tall in maple.
•Crystal Clear Glass-91% clarity-low iron lead free on all 3 panels.
•Elos proprietary Black silicone sealed.
•Ready to plug and play: each aquarium includes all the necessary equipment:
tubing & plumbing for an easy set-up.
•Surface overflow: the water comes to the filter (SUMP) via the surface overflow
•Elos SUMP 100 with eheim return pump and built in top off reservoir.
•Protein Skimmer ELOS NS100
•e-lite LED Lighting w/cooling fan

Downsizing not downgrading. Tanks don't have to be bigger to be better.
That light fixture is very cool. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on how it compares to the other LED system you had.

Thanks for the nice comments guys....
As I couldn't find the Elos locally I ordered it through Einstein Aquatics. I must say they have a great customer service and can recommend the store for sure. They offered me the "all sides" clear glass option for a price way below the regular price :beerchug:
Just got a call from Elos USA and the tank is on his way. From what they told me I will get the first setup with the newest skimmer design here in the US and assured me this thing will kick ***....
The shipment will include a second Elos Mini... Now you can start guessing who else here on TCMAS is getting one also....;)

how about skimmer shot? working good?
It took the skimmer about 10 days to really kick in. Below are a few shots just after he really started working. In the mean time he is doing even better. Those pics are taken only a couple hours after cleaning:
http://homepage.mac.com/maxreefer/Elos2/thumbnails/Elos_20100129_2.jpg

http://homepage.mac.com/maxreefer/Elos2/thumbnails/Elos_20100129_4.jpg
Well the more the tank matures the happier I am with it.
The skimmer really kicked in now and is pulling some serious dark stuff. I was not expecting this to be honest.
Now I start dreaming of having a "couple" Mini's next to each other all with different themes....:lolspin: Just KIDDING
Will try to make some new FTS soon.
