So the other day I was moving my live rock from the middle of the tank to more towards the back. I found all my fish so I started the move.

by the time I was done moving all the rocks most of the fish went into hiding. I didn't think anything about the fish all hiding with me messing with the tank.

the next day I had noticed all the other fish where out but I still didn't see the wrasse anywhere. I looked around the tank to see if I could see him hiding anywhere and could not find him.

the next morning I started moving some of the bigger rocks to see if he was anywhere or got crushed. I still could not find him so I was going to start pulling out some of the extra rock to look for him. I called the LPS to see what they thought I should do. I was told that he might just be hiding out and that I was better off not messing with the tank because I might rune the balance of the tank.

I really hope he didn't get smashed but I am keeping it in mind that it is possible.

does it ever happen where fish just go missing for days and then just show up out of nowhere? keep in mind I have like 60lbs of rock in a 29 gallon tank. so tons of places to hide out.

You probably freaked him out and he's hiding out. I'd check the floor though. That seem to be where I find most things I'm looking for...fish and other.

like the floor of my room or of the tank?

because that was what crossed my mind that he might have jumped out but if thats what happened then the cat must have gotten it because I didn't see it down there. I hope I did just scare him and he is just tucked away somewhere!

If its a sand loving wrasse it will pop up in a few days, unless you crushed it when putting back the rocks:doh: .

it is a Six Line Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia). I didn't take the rock out or even pick it up. I just pushed it back and just adjusted a few chunks to fit better!

I really do hope he is ok, but should I take out a few rocks and see if I can see him? or am I better leaving it I just let nature take its course?

and like I said there is a lot of rock in there so he could be anywhere. I looked but I couldn't find him peeking out of the rocks.
