Where can I get one? Using for acrylic, so does not have to be diamond, regular one will work. I dont remember seeing any that small at menards. Anyone have any ideas, or one laying around I could borrow? I need it to drill acrylic tubing to make a kalk reactor :)

Check Ace Hardware. I have seen them there, otherwise I got mine at Home Depot.

Would a spade bit also work?

If not, I know they have them at home depot, lowes, and fleet farm.

1/2" spade ( I call them butterfly bits ) will work fine with acrylic, I've done if many times. Just besure to have a piece of wood on the other side for the bit to grab onto or can cause a bigger hole than you intended when it cuts through.

Oops, just re-read it's for acrylic tubing which is trickier with a spade but I've done it that way too just be real careful towards the end.....

You will want to look for a 1/2 in forstner bit. it is for boring a hole in finished wood, it will not tear or splinter the wood. I have one on my truck but am not sure how soon you want it. I thought the spade worked a lot better then a hole saw when I had to put holes in my sump. After using a forstner bit on wood, I would not try using it on acrylic.

I would rather use a hole saw on curved acrylic though

A forstner bit will work the best for curved acrylic, i have done it before, i do not recommend a spade bit on it especially if you are tryin to do a glue joint, the spade bit will melt its way through. I will propably have time this weekend to help out if you like.

I will just have to find out what a forstner bit is then. The spade bit was what I was thinking of, and that is the one I dont want to use. Do you have a 1/2 forstner bit Sean?

If you know of a way to make a make-shift router table you can use my router. I don't quite have mine built yet or else I could just do it for you. Dusty should know what I'm talkin about. :)
