So, I will have to get a better skimmer soon. And I've found a Remora Pro Hang On Back Protein Skimmer, will it work?
I have to have a HOB skimmer because I don't have a sump.

As far as HOB skimmers go, that is a good one. I have heard a lot of people recommend them

I'm a big fan of the Octopus HOB skimmers. They have a surface skimming water intake that works very well. IMO.

As rain how she liked her ramora pro. I hated it. They are very noisy. It worked ok though.

I would go with the reef octopus HOB skimmers. They are quiet and easy to use.

seaclones are the bottom of the skimmer line. They work, but are WAY over rated. Yours is rated for 100 gallons. I would not use it on a tank larger than your 26. Good for your application, but if you upgrade tanks, it'll hafta go.

No offense dude but IMO the seaclones are pieces of $*it. i've owned both the 100 and 150 and i didn't like them. i wouldn't take one if it was for free! but hey whatever floats your boat.

Luke,

i'd try and get a sump for it if possible, that way you can get a better skimmer then a HOB, lmk me i may have a sump for you.

Go with the octo. What corals are you planning on putting in this tank?
That tends to influence what skimmer you need/ sump or no sump.
Hard corals like big skimmers and sumps (for extra flow and turnover)

Why is everybody knocking the Remora HOB? I had a lot of success with it, great name brand, reputable company. Gotta show my love for Remora.
I had LPS, SPS, and clams and it did a great job on my tank.

I don't think anyone is knocking on the remora. Everyone just like the octopus more. And I was knocking on the seaclone. I hate seaclones.JIMO.

They work great, but I have never had one in my bedroom. They might be a little loud. Lukas, your timing is all off. I just gave one away... LOL
