I really like how they look but I'm not sure if they act like the green chromis or a normal damsel?
Would anyone know where I can get a few at-cost price in MN?

Petco has really good prices on Green Chromis. The Petco in Minnetonka use to get real big onces.

Unfortunately I haven't seen any good size Green Chromis at any of the local
Petcos in St. Paul for the last year.

You aren't going to find any "at-cost" price in a store. Your best bet is to get in on a livestock group order here. I know a number of them happened the last couple weeks.

I've not been to HarMar pet store, but it gets good reviews and it should be located close to you.

Green and blue chromis have the same behavior. You don't find blue ones locally very often.

Both make good reef tank fish. My only real issue is they snatch up the food way too fast for other more timid fish never get much to eat.

Yay for the Har-Mar plug... I work a few hours a week there, now. Very good prices all around. Chromis are 5.98, 25% off on mondays, as of saturday we had a few. Open 'till 9 tonight. Say hello from Wes if you stop in...

I used to go to Har Mar pets all the time. The 25% off on mondays rocks! A lot of my first corals came from there. Also, the petco in Roseville, at times, has some excellent deals on fish. Their corals tend to be less than adequate if they are even alive.

yeah, I've bought a few nice fish from that petco, the only petco I've ever bought fish from. with the 25% off, harmar often has some of the best prices on fish.

on the topic side of the discussion, I might also be interested in some blue chromis so if someone sees them, post up 'bout it.

Wes, you guys have to sell that Percula Clown :)
I am SOO tempted with the 25% off, I was there this past Monday,
but I simply don't have the space.

Beautiful clown, first saw it when there were 2, it appears the first one didn't
make it or it was sold. If you guys get another one exactly like it and set it as
a pair, boy, I will have to dump one of my existing pair :)

1st was sold, I believe... it is a beaut

I will keep an eye out for what we get by way of true percs if you'd like. With the 25% mondays, a lot of the fish are reaaaally good deals.

I had my hopes up for Blue reef chromis too but LA has Green chromis on sale the rest of today for only 2.50 a piece. I got 30 of them coming.

My last 3, which you saw, DIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these guys i quarentine for a month before i took them home at the petstore i worked at. They still DIED........beautiful fish but a pain in the butt to keep from my behave........

Notes: A school of Blue Reef Chromis is sure to add sparkle and motion to your aquarium. This is a very hardy fish that seeks safety in large groups. In the wild, schools of thousands of chromis cruise across the reef together looking for food and looking out for each other. In the aquarium, they seem to do much better when surrounded by a few good friends. Try groups of three to seven in smaller aquariums, between 30 to 90 gallons, and larger groups of 15 or more chromis in larger display aquariums.

The Blue Reef Chromis not a threat to corals, clams, or invertebrates.

Feed a varied diet of both herbivore and carnivore preparations, including mysid shrimp, brine shrimp, and marine algae.

Has anyone ordered from there? There prices seem reasonable and the shipping is free at $225. I wouldn't mind putting an order together if it is a reputable place.

So far from what I've seen it has tried to school with my 4 green chromis but they are mean to it so it stays away but stays close enough not to feel alone or get attacked.

That's cool... one thing I've noticed is that once my first group of 8 T5s go off, and the Actinic and Blue Plus are only on, I can see the little ding marks that the chromis give each other.... I'm really tempted to add like 5 of these...
