I'm all set up to drill my 29 gallon oceanic cube tank when the guy who's helping asks "you're sure this isn't tempered....right?". That put a stop to the project pretty quick for the day so I can find a certain answer. Unfortunately, they're closed for the day, so I thought I'd see what people thought on here. I know the bottom is tempered, but I'm drilling the back. Typically, side panes are not tempered right? I'll likely find out absolutely certain tomorrow, but I wanted to check my sanity first. Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about the biocube or a different 29 gallon oceanic cube?

not the biocube. Actually, it might be a 30ga cube come to think of it.

Your drilling the back right? is it a seperate pane of glass than from the front and bottem? If so i would say it is NOT tempred

Yup! As I found out just the other day the back is not tempered. I hadn't heard anything concrete, and I didn't think it was so I went ahead and drilled. My neighbor is a glass guy so worst case I get a new piece of glass right? It went great.
