I filled my nano yesterday to get it cycling and the bulb wont fire. One of the fans is cut from the circuit and the wires are free, but then other fan works, so I doubt it is that. I can check the bulb connections when I get a screwdriver, but since I just moved Im not sure whan I will be able to dig that out.

walmart does sell screwdrivers cheap (huge pack for like $5, I buy them there because I lose them before I break em... keep the good ones in the tool box)

I have been reading up on odyssea stuff, and it seems like it might be alright, so I ended up getting some lights to see how they work, but they are being shipped as we speak. So if it turns out you need to replace the whole setup, maybe check out www.aquatraders.com, unless you got more cash to spare then I would go for something a little better...

Damn me and my limited funds :(

I cant figure it out. The fuse is fine, the fan and the LEDs work, but I dont get anything from the PC bulb. Not a flicker or a flash.

Wouldn't think it's the balast since it was only used about a year... but you never know.

Both bulbs? It only has 1 bulb and 2 LEDs. I guess I could buy a new bulb to try to find out.

I brought the top by my dad's place and had him look at it. He took an ohmeter to it and figured out that the ballast is fried.

Since the hood only has 1 light, that needs to be repaired, and one of the fans is gone, I am looking to buy a new nano or a new top or something. I was at my dads over theweekend and not only did my heater come unplugged, but something was leaving some stray voltage. What was left wasnt very happy. I would just like to get something I can have up and running asap so the rest of my corals dont die.
