Is This Normal?

I have a Rose Stylophora (Stylophora pistillata) I put him in the tank on 1/20/2010. He has always been dark purple accept the one side which is pure white. I thought I placed him to high so after a few weeks in the tank I put him on the bottom and he has been there until 03/21/2010. I decided to place him on the rock close to the bottom. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong with this guy? He's growing from what I can tell.
Quick Tank Specs:
75g, Marineland Pro Lighting, water parms. all very good....

Probably was a lighting acclimation issue, either too much of an intensity switch or too much of spectrum switch. If the top still have some live polyps it should come back if you start lower and work you way back to the top again. If they are not alive it should re-encrust over it in time as long as you can keep the algae from growing on it.
