So, its been a while but I'm getting back into the hobby. Kind of by accident too.
The kids at the house I live at went to the ocean and caught a bunch of little puffers and brought them home in a 20 liter tank with water from the ocean. I told the family that all of the fish would probably end up dying, which they did (7 fish in 20 liters just doesn't work), but not before I set up a 60 liter tank that my friend borrowed to me. So now I've got a piece of live rock & 2 ocellaris clowns. I'd like to do corals, but the light I have now isn't strong enough. Plus the tank temp is running a little high cause its so hot here.

Welcome back Devin! I met your dad this summer and toured the "acres" when I needed a part for my uv sterilizer. Pretty cool place I must say. It is pretty cool that you are setting up a tank again. What kinda light do you have on the tank? You gonna try an anemone for the clowns?

Mary,
I'm glad you liked the farm, hopefully you didn't get attacked by any cats. I don't plan on getting an anemone, if I do get into corals it will just be easy stuff like zoos. But I might have to search for some acans.
David,
You should use liters, it is so much easier to calculate things using the metric system. I had to jack the monkey picture (that sounds really bad) from the old forum cause I couldn't find it on my computer.
Fritz,
Not much, just busy. How are you doing?

Whats up man! Good to hear from you. I think Fritz is refering to a type of AC when he says Swamp Cooler. It is a style not commonly found in the MN area and used more down south.

Right, TY Smeese. Its like a wet dry with a big fan on it. I've never seen one in person, but they exist in lots of the threads for coral farms and stuff. You already know, evaporation cools down stuff.

Hmm... Never heard of a swamp cooler before, it might be a little overkill for a 60 liter tank though.

We had one when we lived in Vegas. They only work when the humidity is real low.

Well, it wouldn't work too well in Japan then, we usually have a humidity of, oh... 120% I think.:crap:
JP,
Good to hear from you to! Are you still in Hong Kong? I have to update my blog real soon, its been awhile. Girlfriend? Ever wonder why I haven't updated my blog lately? I still don't officially have one yet though.
Mike,
Swimmingly? Sounds a little fishy.;)

From the guys here at MACNA's coral farm think tank, swamp coolers and other evap methods still work, even in Flordia, GA, ect. in the summer.
reduced effectiveniess perhaps. Might be different with the scale of things ... where the large bodies of water will be more stable. So, the reduced effectiveness will = not work for little tank.
