View Full Version : Any easy to grow sps?

I have a fifty gal lps and softies tank with some t5 lighting abuot 120 total watts. what if any hardy sps can i keep? i can place them near the surface for better lighting. appreciate any suggestions.

just make sure that's T5HO, not just T5.
Monti is easy SPS and they are cheaper.

Pavona, hydnophora, poccilipora, birdsnest, montipora caps, montipora digitata, porites, turbinaria, some acropora millipora, some arcopora staghorns such as the green slimer are a few I can think of.

Not all T5s are equal. Must be using good quality T5 individual parabolic reflectors along with keeping the bulbs cool with fans.

Along with good lighting, you need to be testing for and supplimenting for CA / ALK / Mg. Need to have low nitrates and phosphates as they will inhibit calcification.
