I am thinking about pulling up the carpet where the new tank will go and putting down tile instead. Only thing is, I have no idea how to tile. Anybody in the club experienced in such a project that may be willing to come over and work with me for cheap?

Thanks,
Mary

all you need is a good base and a level. :)

hey mary, I've laid tile when I worked for my uncle who's a contractor in California, and growing up with my dad several times... I'd certainly be willing to help ya out. When were you hoping to get it done?

Soon Wes, probably within the next couple a weeks. What days do you have off?

I have to do the same thing in the basement so I can move my 125 down there. I am sick of water leaking through both levels of the house when something happens. :swear:

I did the bathroom floor in ceramic. I think it came out great, never tried it before. It's not hard. Just watch some "This Old House" reruns first :-)

uniform tiles are easy and they sell spacers to make it easy for DIY, uneven tile , TRavertine, or rough stone tile can be more challenging but by laying them half oin half ( pattern like a brick wall) you can hide the mismached edges and creat a more custom look. Just use the corect fastset on the part under the tank to support the weight.

tile is pretty easy to do, we can talk about it saturday when Nicole and I are there. can't be more than a couple hour job. (after the tile ad supplies are picked up.)

"the tile shop" store puts on a pretty good class every saturday. If there is one near you, you could go to that.

I've done some tile work too and its a pain but definitely not hard.
