do spaghetti worms bother anything in the reef? I found a few that look like them but they are dark colored instead of clear? is this something else, too small to get a good pic but I'm working on that.

I have some of the dark ones also. I do not believe the really bother corals, they maybe could irratate them, but I don't think they could really harm them, but thats just my guess.

They steal food from slow corals, that's about it

I removed the ones too near corals to be sfe but was just wondering as I had never seen dark ones before.

Spaghetti worms are really cool and totally harmless as far as I can tell.

Your worms might be any of a number of possible types of worms, that could be from any of at least three distinctly different polychaete worm families that I can think of off the top of my head (only one of which would be properly called spaghetti worms). In some cases the "spaghetti"-like appendages are feeding appendages, while in other cases they are actually gills. None of these 3 types of worms should cause any problems, they will almost certainly help your tank to function better, and they give your tank a bit more of the wonderful diversity that makes reef tanks so wonderful.

before I moved I had a bajillion or so yellow striped ones. they're just starting to make a come back since I've moved. mine seem to be detrivours, everytime I see a bit of fish poo, they're all over it.
