Did I just find the grail? There is a pallet of "PAVESTONE Pulverized Limestone" at the HD in Olathe just south of 151st.

Here is what the bag says:
Calcium 38%
Calcium Carbonate Equivalent 95%
Magnesium less than 2%
Relative Neutralizing Value 83.63%

it was posted on another forum

What are you lookin' to use it for ? Kalkwasser ? If so, the Mississippi Lime company stuff Ryan sells in bulk is more pure than most Kalkwasser in the aquarium industry and cheap enough I wouldn't risk it......

well as it currently looks, it does appear safe. id be alittle more interested in seeing what other impurities it has in it.
what do the grains look like? anything like what agranite sand looks like?

Don't quote me on this but "i think" i read somewhere that this stuff used as a substrate has PH issues. I would do some more research before useing it.

search on google for this sand, thats how i found that link. i aslo found 3 other links that make this sand look like the next southdown. though more "test" may be needed.

So add one more animal to the list then.......

Interceptor for red bugs is for dogs
Levinsole ( or how ever you spell it ) is for pigs.
Now Pulverized limestone for chickens.

won't be long and we can build that ark..............

I wonder how many companies are out there that could market their same product for 14 different uses. Seems like we find so many things that work for the aquarium hobby whos intentions were def. not initially for it.

Ive hauled crushed seashells to a place in st.Paul and they use it for chickens to make harder eggs...

We feed crushed oyster shells from Fleet Farm to our chickens. They need the calcium for egg shell production. Seems to me I have heard of using the crushed shells in a reef tank too.
