I have dedicated a24 gallon Nano to my zoas--what is everyone's favorite kind of lights (for my size of tank) to intensify the colors of the zoas?

Depends on how wide the tank is. If you can fit them, do t-5's, or if it is the nanocube 24, get the new hqi lid, lol.

Don't know what kind of tank it is---looks like a perfect square cube--has a Finnex fixture with 3 double PC on it-- it is 17 1/2 W 16 1/2 Tall and 17 1/2 deep

Personally, if it were me, I would use a 150w MH on it then. It is too short for t-5's, and the only thing that would really work is a MH. Maybe look at a sunpod fixture or something similar.

T5 bulbs are, at the shortest, 24 inches in length, so I think that about eliminates them from use. The tank is about 20 gallons in volume from the dimensions you listed, fwiw.

It sounds like it came with a hood with 3x 28W PCs, which is not bad at all for a tank that size. We're actually going to be connecting a 10g to our system as a softy/zoanthid tank, which will be lit by a 10K 28W PC and an actinic 28W PC. I'm interested in seeing how the colors/growth differs in this tank and in our main display, which has a 250W halide and 2x 95W VHOs.

As for a halide, you will probably get amazing growth, but you'll have to keep on top of evaporation and cooling more rigorously. Though a HQI 150W with a 14k Pheonix bulb does sound attractive...
