If you can afford the deluxe model then Go with that one. the difference between the 5 and 6 stage is the six stage has dual DI which means you will use less DI resin over time. and the six stage also comes with a dual stage tds meter, very nice to have to know when you need to change filters DI etc. That specific kent marine unit is for if you have high silica in your tap water. and it doesnt have DI. i highly recommend the 6 stage if you can afford it if not the minimum I would go with is the 5 stage. if you cant afford either right now then save a little longer until you can afford it.

I just bought the second one but I got the optional TDS meter and the extra filters so it ended up being right at 200.00. I was really impressed when the unit arrived on Monday with the quality. I don't know if the second DI unit is necessary or not but I am sure it couldn't hurt...

I don't think you could go wrong with either Two Part RO/DI setup...

The Kent Maxxima does have DI in it. It only uses 1 Carbon stage instead of 2 like in the filterguys design.
Filter guys
Sed - Carbon - Carbon - RO - DI

Kent
Sed - Carbon - RO - DI

Which is better....got me......

Thanks guys for helping me with my decision :agree: . Since I have been saving for theRO/DI for a while & I just need a few $$ more I will get the deluxe model. Before I order there is one more agreement needed... you guessed right :rotflmao:

I went with this TDS meter and its nice because you get both the in and out readings at the same time and its back lit.

How is that different from the TDS meter that comes with the deluxe kit

It just shows both at the same time and has a back light. Other than that, its the same. Its also $30 with shipping. I didn't have the money to get teh meter right away when I bought my RODI unit, so I just got the system and added the meter later.

This one was suggested by a member (I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find the thread), and I'm happy with it.
