$20 Clam Thread

Let's see those $20 clams.

After puting him in the tank, I pulled out 90% of my rock trying to catch a fish, put the rock back in, and had a large aquaclear powerhead fall on the clam. These are the after pictures. He is still doing great! Amazing deal on a clam!

Mine is doing well. It seems to have lost its foot. It attached to a rock, I moved it up in the tank. 2 days later the foot was on the rock and the clam was on the ground. Everytime I try to get it on the rock, it winds up in the sand, so for now, its on the sand.

BTW, would this be OK in a 29 under 110 Watts PC for a month or two while I build out my big tank or is that not enough light?

I'm keeping mine under 144W of PC. I have been advised that this may be insufficient but I have found plenty of people writing about it working for them.

I've only had it under PC's since Friday, so don't call me a success story just yet.

The reason I want him on the rock so bad is because of the PC's - I want him as high as I can get him.

The 2" clam I got is much more than 2". Probably closer to 3.

I'm away working on the farm....but my wife tells me that the clam is no more. :doh: She had to leave for a few days and when she came back he was gone. Who knows what happened or if it could have been prevented, I might caulk this one up to not being there to babysit him.
