were these all ones you got from the $20 clam order? If so, man, getting first dibs sure kicked butt!
I just brought my first clam home and even though it's less impressive than those guys, I still love it.

They were barely open so it was more of a random picking. Don't feel bad I think 2 of mine above is bleached from who knows what conditions they were in?

I'm starting to think that the spotting on them is a genetic defect or something and is probably the reason they are so cheap. Not say that they are sick or bad just not the usual color/patterns of these species of clams.

Here's a closer shot of the white pattern.
Who else got a clam with it?

Who knows. If it is abnormal, people usually pay more for that.
I don't really know anything about clams other than you are supposed to watch out for pyramid snails and pinched mantle. Supposedly PM can be cured by a freshwater dip and I checked every last one for snails before I put them in my tank and didn't find a thing.

After looking at it more closely it's GOLDish white.

Yes, I got confirmation from other forums they're healthy and look unique from normal Ultra Crocea Clam patterns. okay $60.00 j/k

I'm not sure exactly what the white/ goldish areas are. I had that happen to my deressa about 3 months ago. I tried posting here but had no luck with a responese. They became spots that made holes almost and flaked off. Just checked and the marks are still there.

The gold and white is a normal unique color for Crocea. What your Deressa had was something else sorry I don't know what it is.
