:bawling: Tunzes should be considered a deadly weapon. I think I will start carrying one with me late at night when I have to walk to my car.
"Back off thug, or I will stick you with my Tunze!!"
That would teach them...
Anyway, sorry for your loss :(

Yeah, it ticks me off... I'm thinking of turning those nano off at night to be a little calmer.... My school of chromis have had my Pocillioppora verracosa home at night to hide from them...
Glad I didn't go with two more 6100s...

I lost my first Magnificent the same way. Why is it the prettiest fish are always the dumbest...

Sorry to hear that Matt. Dont mean to Hijack the thread, Tunze are good for corals only tank or the fish we get are smart to not venture close to the tunze?

He 'appeared' to be healthy, but I'm no fish whisperer... My guess was that something wasn't right.. ironically, it was on my nanos, not my big honkin' 6100s.

sorry to hear that!
i have 5 tunze in my tank, the copperband and other tangs swim by or looking for food around them all the time. i dont think if you keep the tunze housing clean, they can create enough of sucking power to catch a healthy fish.

They are clean, my 6100s are complete covered in coraline, wavebox mostly, they were the only black in my tank :) I do notice my purple tang swimming around them looking for stuff too.. though he's pretty SOL..

It might be interesting to look into building an add-on box made out of eggcrate to help prevent the tunze deaths. I have some black eggcrate and would be willing to give it a shot if anyone is interested. Problem is I don't have a tunze to build it around, so someone would have to bring one over.

I lost a fish to a maxijet with the intake missing. I felt horrible for the torture I put that fish through.
