In the house or in the shop? Don't let anyone tell you you don't need a chiller either. Those closed top tanks, can't get a fan on them. Open them up, the wife starts yelling....you might be able to get by with a 1/15..that is what I'm using on my max, but I don't have halides...

House...I'm downsizing to 2 tanks instead of the 4 now. 28G and a 125G the rest is going to be at the shop. I'll be growing most of my SPS in my 125G and frags will be at the shop in the near future. I'm going with a 1/4 HP chiller so yea...I'm getting ready for the summer heat issue. They have 4 fans built-in but I'm not counting on it.

No need for a chiller. Save yourself some money Ray!! We have a CBreeze fan on our 28g with a halide and retro actinics with a closed top and the fan works great. It clips on the back and is very powerful. Keeps the temp stable. Bought it on nanotuners I believe.

RaysReef

My theme is simple:

Hanging Cliff *14+ inches of suspended shelf rock * just 2 rocks glued together* no other live rock will be added in the tank. Total weight is 25 lbs. with 25 lbs. Caribsea Coarse Sand. Sorry the water is still a little murky

I want to be able to clean the glass without bumping into any corals or rock.

Just ordered my skimmer- Aquamaxx HOB-1 *Best fit and bang for the buck on a Nanocube* $199, similiar to Warner Marine *newer sicce pump* and the JNS version just rebadged for the US market- I was planning on going with a XP1000 HOB but it would not fit without extremely modding it.

Update:
Changed over bulbs last night to 20k Radium 150w DEs- Boy that's a difference from the stock JBJ 14k one.

I'm actually suprised the 2 return pumps *included in cube* does provide decent flow, combined about 400gph. Not having too many substrate helps as well.

Ray, stupid question, but did you used cycled water from your other tanks or something? I was thinking about doing that so I wouldnt have to cycle my 37g, does it work well? Looks great btw:beerchug:

Ray, stupid question, but did you used cycled water from your other tanks or something? I was thinking about doing that so I wouldnt have to cycle my 37g, does it work well? Looks great btw:beerchug:

I did use about 20% of it from my main tank, I started my nano with all new rock and sand. I also added a some other "additives" to help cycle it faster. No matter what any new setup will go through a cycle. I limit my lighting as well for about 2 wks.

Fish List:

Flame Hawk *added*
Fu ManChu Dwarf Lionfish
Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish
Wild Caught True Percs *Pair added*
Juvi Koran Angelfish
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Blue Hippo Tang *added*

Tank Update:

Took Scolys out, HQI lights were a bit much for them. Transferred my Japanese Leather and its definately liking the HQI lighting. Man, I'm stoked about getting this skimmer for it. Eager to try this baby out. Should be here Friday *crossing fingers* Also added some carbon to help clear up the water. Adding also the red Hornets from Bkoppes *looking great and w00t for Brett.

Comes fully assembled
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0001-9.jpg

Slim Design- I'm impressed with how well its built
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0003-5.jpg

Cup is height adjustable using the rubber ring gasket
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0002-10.jpg

Height above Nano, its about 6-7 inch above *Back*
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0004-10.jpg

Overall side view
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0006-6.jpg

Needs to be primed, not to hard to do...just fill it half way and stick the air tube into the water ;)
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0005-8.jpg

Built in hanging bracket :beerchug:
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0008-3.jpg

Within 5 mins its already foaming nicely. after 45 mins water is clearing up nicely.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/SoGoneRG/DSC_0009-3.jpg

Pros:
Overall, seems to be a well built performing skimmer, quality built and very little dialing in. *Cup height adjuster for dialing* :beerchug: The sicce scrya pump compliments it, perfect combo. No modding needed

Cons:
The filter box has to be taken out *useless* Canopy can not open fully, only 2.5 inches high. You would need to mod *cut canopy* to fully have access inside.
